أنطوني غاودي ANTONI GAUDÍ المعماري الذي جعل الحجر يصلّي THE ARCHITECT WHO TAUGHT

حين أنظر إلى عمارة أنطوني غاودي، لا أشعر أنني أقف أمام مبانٍ فقط، بل أمام كائناتٍ خرجت من الأرض ثم رفعت رؤوسها نحو السماء.
When I look at Antoni Gaudí’s architecture, I do not feel that I am standing before buildings alone, but before living beings that emerged from the earth and raised their heads toward the sky.
كان يستطيع أن يأخذ الحجر، ذلك الشيء الثقيل الصامت، ويمنحه خفة الشجرة وحركة الموجة وانحناءة الجسد.
He could take stone, that heavy and silent substance, and give it the lightness of a tree, the movement of a wave, and the curve of a human body.
لم يكن يرى الطبيعة منظرًا يحيط بالعمارة.
He did not see nature as scenery surrounding architecture.
كان يراها المدرسة الكبرى التي يجب أن تعود إليها العمارة كلما نسيت أصلها.
He saw it as the great school to which architecture must return whenever it forgets its origin.
الشجرة عنده كانت عمودًا.
For him, a tree was a column.
والغصن كان قوسًا.
A branch was an arch.
والكهف كان فراغًا معماريًا.
A cave was an architectural space.
وقوقعة البحر كانت درسًا في الهندسة.
A seashell was a lesson in geometry.
والضوء لم يكن شيئًا يدخل المبنى بعد اكتماله.
Light was not something that entered a building after it was completed.
بل كان مادةً من مواد البناء نفسها.
It was one of the building materials themselves.
واللون لم يكن زينة.
Color was not decoration.
كان نبضًا.
It was a pulse.
أما الإيمان، فلم يكن موضوعًا يضاف إلى مشروعه.
As for faith, it was not a theme added to his work.
كان مركزًا داخليًا تدور حوله العمارة كلها.
It was an inner center around which the entire architecture revolved.
ولهذا أكتب عن غاودي لا باعتباره مهندسًا عبقريًا فقط.
That is why I write about Gaudí not merely as a brilliant architect.
بل باعتباره واحدًا من أولئك الذين حوّلوا المهنة إلى سؤالٍ عن الإنسان والخلق والجمال والسماء.
But as one of those rare figures who transformed the profession into a question about humanity, creation, beauty, and heaven.
هذه ليست سيرة رجل بنى كنيسة وبيوتًا وحديقة.
This is not merely the biography of a man who built a church, houses, and a park.
إنها ملحمة رجل حاول أن يجعل المدينة نفسها تتذكر أنها جزء من الطبيعة.
It is the epic of a man who tried to make the city itself remember that it belongs to nature.
