كان هذا الكتاب حلمًا بدأ كخطوة صغيرة داخل عقلٍ يبحث عن طريقة جديدة لرؤية العمارة.
This book began as a small step inside a mind searching for a new way to see architecture.
كانت الفكرة بسيطة:
The idea was simple:
أن أجلس مع معماري واحد،
To sit with a single architect,
وأن أسمح للحوار أن يصبح مساحةً يبني فيها الفكر نفسه.
and allow conversation to become a space where thought constructs itself.
لم أرد أن أكتب سيرة،
I did not want to write a biography,
ولا دراسة نقدية،
nor a critical study,
بل رحلة فكرية تتكشّف كلمة بعد أخرى.
but an intellectual journey unfolding word by word.
رحلة ليست عن المشاريع،
A journey not about projects alone,
بل عن الإنسان الذي صمّمها،
but about the person who shaped them,
وعن العقل الذي رأى العالم بطريقة مختلفة.
and about the mind that saw the world differently.
في كل فصل من هذا الكتاب،
In every chapter of this book,
كنتُ أحاول أن أقترب من بنية التفكير قبل بنية المبنى.
I tried to approach the structure of thinking before the structure of the building.
كنتُ أبحث عن السبب قبل النتيجة،
I searched for the cause before the effect,
وعن الفكرة قبل شكلها النهائي.
and for the idea before its final form.
كل حوار هنا لم يكن تبادل كلمات،

اكتشفت أن العمارة ليست حجارة ولا خطوطًا،

ربما لا يقدّم هذا الكتاب إجابات،
This book may not offer answers,
ولم يكن هدفه أن يفعل ذلك،
and it was never meant to do so,
بل أن يدفع القارئ لطرح أسئلةٍ لم يفكر بها من قبل.
but to push the reader to ask questions they had not considered before.
أسئلة عن المكان،
Questions about space,
عن الحركة،
movement,
عن المستقبل،
the future,
وعن العمارة كعملية مستمرة لا تتوقف عند شكل.
and about architecture as a continuous process that does not end with a form.
إنه كتاب عن الحوار،
It is a book about dialogue,
وعن تلك اللحظات الصغيرة التي تغيّر طريقة رؤيتنا للأشياء.
and about those small moments that change how we see things.
أكتب هذه المقدمة وأنا أعلم أن الرحلة لم تنتهِ،
I write this introduction knowing the journey has not ended,
بل بدأت الآن بشكل أوضح وأعمق.
but has begun now more clearly and deeply.
فالعمارة، كما تعلّمت من هذه الحوارات،
For architecture, as I learned from these dialogues,
ليست اكتشافًا…
is not a discovery…
بل إعادة اكتشاف مستمرة.
but a continuous rediscovery.
