منذ أن بدأ الإنسان يرفعُ الحجارة نحو السماء، كان يبحثُ عن معنى.
Since man first raised stones toward the sky, he was seeking meaning.

يبني ليحمي، ليخلّد، ليقول: “كنتُ هنا.”
He builds to protect, to eternalize, to say: “I was here.”

لكنّ الحجارةَ لا تحفظُ سوى الصدى،
Yet the stones preserve only echoes,

والأممُ التي تُبنى على الصوت وحده، تُهدَمُ بالصمت.
and nations built upon sound alone are undone by silence.

في هذا الكتاب، لا نتحدثُ عن الزعيم كسياسي،
In this book, we do not speak of the leader as a politician,

بل كمعمارٍ حاول أن يرسمَ وطنًا من ضوءٍ وحلمٍ وناس.
but as an architect who sought to design a nation of light, dream, and people.

عبد الناصر لم يكن مبنى من حجرٍ فقط،
Nasser was not merely a structure of stone,

بل فكرةٌ تشبهُ المدن التي تُقامُ في الذاكرة ثم تتهدّمُ في التاريخ.
but an idea—like cities built in memory, then destroyed in history.

من القاهرة إلى السد العالي،
From Cairo to the High Dam,

كان المعمارُ ينهضُ كحلمٍ عن العدالة والكرامة.
architecture rose as a dream of justice and dignity.

ثم جاءت الشقوق،
Then came the cracks,

لتُذكّرنا أن كلَّ قُبّةٍ بلا روحٍ مصيرُها الانهيار.
reminding us that every dome without spirit is destined to fall.

لكن من بين الأنقاض، تولدُ القيامةُ من جديد.
Yet from the ruins, resurrection is born anew.

هذه الملحمة ليست عن رجلٍ فقط،
This epic is not about a man alone,

بل عن أمةٍ كانت تُحاول أن تبني صورتها من جديد.
but about a nation trying to rebuild its image anew.

هي رحلةٌ من الأساس إلى الحجر الأخير،
It is a journey from the foundation to the final stone,

من الهتاف إلى التأمل،
from chanting to contemplation,

ومن العمارة المادية إلى المعمار الروحي.
and from material architecture to the architecture of the soul.

فيها نرى كيف يمكن للحجر أن يتكلّم،
Here we see how stone can speak,

وللصوت أن يصبح بناءً،
and how sound can become structure,

وللأمة أن تتعلمَ من سقوطها معنى النهوض.
and how a nation learns the meaning of rising through its fall.

الزعيم في هذه الصفحات ليس بطلاً أسطورياً،
The leader in these pages is no mythical hero,

بل معمارٌ بشريٌّ،
but a human architect,

يخطئ، يحلم، يبني، ويهدمُ نفسهُ ليتعلم.
who errs, dreams, builds, and destroys himself to learn.

هي ليست ملحمةَ تمجيد،
It is not an epic of glorification,

بل ملحمةُ تفكّرٍ وتأملٍ في المصير العربيّ.
but an epic of reflection and meditation on Arab destiny.

ومن خلال فصولها الثمانية،
Through its eight chapters,

نمرّ على مراحل البناء الإنسانيّ في صورةِ وطنٍ من أحجارٍ وأفكار.
we pass through the human stages of construction in the image of a homeland of stones and thoughts.

وفي النهاية، حين نصل إلى “الحجر الأخير”،
And in the end, when we reach “The Last Stone,”

نفهم أن العمارة الحقيقية هي في القلوب،
we understand that true architecture lies within hearts,

وأن الزعامة ليست أن يُرفع اسمك فوق الجدران،
and leadership is not having your name engraved above walls,

بل أن تتركَ في الناسِ القدرة على أن يبنوا بعدك.
but leaving within people the ability to build after you.
