سوريا اليوم لا تحتاج إلى مزيدٍ من الأبراج الزجاجية التي تتسابق مع الغيوم.

Syria today does not need more glass towers racing toward the clouds.

ولا إلى واجهاتٍ لامعة تعكس الضوء وتخفي الحقيقة.

Nor shining façades that reflect light while concealing reality.

ولا إلى مشاريع استعراضية تتصدر الصور الجوية.

Nor spectacle projects designed for aerial photographs.

بينما قرى كاملة ما زالت تنتظر الماء النظيف.

While entire villages still wait for clean water.

ومدارس تنتظر أبوابها.

And schools still wait for their doors.

ومشافي تنتظر أجهزتها.

And hospitals still wait for their equipment.

ما يجري على سفوح قاسيون ليس أولويتنا.

What rises on the slopes of Qasioun is not our priority.

فالأوطان لا تُقاس بارتفاع الأبراج.

Nations are not measured by the height of towers.

بل بارتفاع مستوى الإنسان.

But by the elevation of human life.

ولا بعدد المولات الفاخرة.

Nor by the number of luxury malls.

بل بعدد الأطفال الذين يتعلمون جيدًا.

But by the number of children receiving a good education.

ولا بحجم الواجهات الزجاجية.

Nor by the size of glass façades.

بل بقدرة الناس على العيش بكرامة.

But by people's ability to live with dignity.

ما الذي نربحه من أبراجٍ جديدة

What do we gain from new towers

إذا كانت القرى بلا صرفٍ صحي؟

If villages lack sanitation?

وإذا كانت بعض المدارس تعمل في مبانٍ متعبة؟

If some schools operate in exhausted buildings?

وإذا كان المزارع يخسر أرضه

If farmers lose their land

والعامل يخسر فرصته

And workers lose opportunities

والطالب يخسر مستقبله؟

And students lose their future?

هذه ليست سوريا التي نحلم بها.

This is not the Syria we dream of.

سوريا التي نريدها

The Syria we seek

لا تُبنى كنسخةٍ باهتة

Will not be built as a pale imitation

من مدنٍ أخرى.

Of other cities.

ولا كصورةٍ مستوردة

Nor as an imported image

من كتالوجات الاستثمار العالمية.

From global investment catalogues.

سوريا يجب أن تنهض من ذاتها.

Syria must rise from within itself.

من ترابها.

From its soil.

من ذاكرتها.

From its memory.

من وجعها.

From its pain.

ومن عبقرية شعبها.

And from the genius of its people.

نريد مشاريع تصنع حياة.

We want projects that create life.

لا مشاريع تصنع ضجيجًا إعلاميًا.

Not projects that create media noise.

نريد بنية تحتية ذكية.

We want smart infrastructure.

شبكات كهرباء حديثة.

Modern power networks.

ومياه مستدامة.

Sustainable water systems.

واتصالات متطورة.

Advanced communications.

مرتبطة بالذكاء الاصطناعي.

Connected to artificial intelligence.

تقلل الهدر.

Reducing waste.

وترفع الكفاءة.

Increasing efficiency.

نريد مدارس رقمية.

We want digital schools.

وجامعاتٍ تصنع المعرفة.

Universities that create knowledge.

ومراكز أبحاثٍ تصنع المستقبل.

Research centers that shape the future.

نريد قطاراتٍ تربط المدن.

We want railways connecting cities.

وحافلاتٍ ذكية تربط القرى.

Smart transport connecting villages.

ومدنًا زراعية حديثة.

Modern agricultural communities.

ومناطق صناعية تنتج.

Industrial zones that produce.

لا تستهلك فقط.

Not merely consume.

نريد أن نعيد إعمار سوريا.

We want to rebuild Syria.

لكن دون أن نمحو وجهها.

Without erasing her face.

أو نكسر مرآتها التاريخية.

Or breaking her historical mirror.

فالنهضة لا تعني

Progress does not mean

أن نرتدي ثوبًا معماريًا غريبًا.

Wearing an unfamiliar architectural costume.

ولا أن نقلّد مدنًا أخرى.

Nor imitating other cities.

بل أن نبدع بلغتنا الخاصة.

But creating in our own language.

أن نعيد إحياء العمارة الدمشقية.

Reviving Damascene architecture.

والأفامية.

Apamean architecture.

والتدمرية.

And Palmyrene architecture.

أن نبني بالحجر البازلتي في الجنوب.

Building with basalt stone in the south.

وبالطين المسلح في البادية.

With reinforced earth in the desert.

وبالأفنية الداخلية.

With inner courtyards.

والقناطر المظللة.

And shaded arches.

والحدائق التي تدخل الطبيعة إلى البيت.

Gardens that bring nature into the home.

نريد عمارة تعرف الشمس.

We want architecture that understands sunlight.

وتعرف الريح.

Understands wind.

وتعرف الإنسان.

Understands people.

عمارة لا تحارب المناخ.

Architecture that does not fight climate.

بل تتحاور معه.

But collaborates with it.

هوية سوريا ليست للبيع.

Syria’s identity is not for sale.

وليست سلعةً للاستيراد.

Nor a commodity to be imported.

فالحداثة ليست تقليدًا.

Modernity is not imitation.

الحداثة إبداع.

Modernity is creation.

الحداثة أن نستخدم التكنولوجيا

Modernity means using technology

دون أن نفقد الذاكرة.

Without losing memory.

وأن نستخدم الذكاء الاصطناعي

Using artificial intelligence

دون أن نفقد الحكمة.

Without losing wisdom.

وأن نبني المستقبل

Building the future

دون أن نهدم الماضي.

Without demolishing the past.

هل يمكن أن نبني مدينة تقنية سورية؟

Can we build a Syrian technology city?

نعم.

Yes.

هل يمكن أن نبني مساكن حديثة

Can we create modern housing

لكنها دافئة وإنسانية؟

Yet warm and humane?

نعم.

Yes.

هل يمكن أن نبني مراكز أبحاث عالمية

Can we build world-class research centers

تحمل روح دمشق وحلب؟

That carry the spirit of Damascus and Aleppo?

نعم.

Yes.

وهذا هو التحدي الحقيقي.

And that is the true challenge.

أن نكون حديثين دون أن نصبح نسخة.

To be modern without becoming a copy.

وأن نكون عالميين دون أن نفقد أنفسنا.

To be global without losing ourselves.

وأن نبني للأجيال القادمة

And to build for future generations

وطنًا يتذكر من يكون.

A homeland that remembers who it is.

الخاتمة

Conclusion

سوريا لا تحتاج إلى زجاجٍ أكثر.

Syria does not need more glass.

بل إلى جذورٍ أعمق.

But deeper roots.

لا تحتاج إلى أبراجٍ أعلى.

Not taller towers.

بل إلى رؤيةٍ أبعد.

But a longer vision.

الأوطان لا تُبنى بالاستعراض.

Nations are not built through spectacle.

بل بالعلم.

But through knowledge.

وبالعدالة.

Through justice.

وبالعمل.

Through work.

وبالذاكرة.

Through memory.

وبالإنسان.

And through people.

نريد أن نقول لأحفادنا يومًا:

We want to tell our grandchildren one day:

لقد زرعنا حجرًا يحمل المعنى.

We planted a stone that carried meaning.

ولم نزرع مرآةً تعكس الآخرين.

We did not plant a mirror reflecting others.

بَنَينا وطنًا يشبهنا.

We built a homeland that resembles us.

ويحمل اسم سوريا بفخر.

And carries the name Syria with pride.
