آرنه ياكوبسن ARNE JACOBSEN المعماري الذي جعل الوظيفة أنيقة THE ARCHITECT WHO MAD

$10.00Price

Arne Jacobsen was not an architect who needed to shout in order to be heard.

His language was quieter, more precise, and far more demanding.

He believed beauty does not begin with ornament.

It begins when everything knows why it exists.

A window in the right place.

A chair embracing the body without spectacle.

A stair that does not announce itself, yet guides the human body with ease.

A façade that appears simple, yet is calculated to the final proportion.

Here begins Jacobsen’s architecture.

He lived in a century when Europe was trying to free itself from the weight of the past.

Modernism was telling architects:

Remove the excess.

Reveal the structure.

Let function speak.

But Jacobsen added something more.

Through his buildings and furniture, he seemed to say:

Even function needs a poet.

That is why he was never merely a functionalist architect.

He was a designer of an entire world.

From the city,

to the building,

to the room,

to the chair,

to the lamp,

to the door handle.

As if when a person entered one of his projects,

he did not enter a building,

but a complete idea.
