Ghassan Massoud… When Silence Becomes a School

ليس كل من يصمت غائباً.Not everyone who falls silent is absent.

فبعض الصمت يحتاج عمراً ليُقال.Some silences require a lifetime to be spoken.

وهناك رجال لا يطاردون الأضواء.Some men never chase the spotlight.

بل يجعلون الضوء يطاردهم.Instead, they make the light chase them.

غسان مسعود واحد من هؤلاء.Ghassan Massoud is one of them.

لم يأتِ ليحكي قصة نجاح.He did not come to narrate success.

بل ليكشف رحلة إنسان.He came to reveal a human journey.

رحلة بدأت من التراب.A journey that began in the soil.

وانتهت في ذاكرة العالم.And reached the world's memory.

ولد الحلم في قرية صغيرة.The dream was born in a small village.

لكن السماء كانت بلا حدود.Yet the sky knew no borders.

المسرح لم يكن وظيفة.The stage was never a job.

بل كان طريقة لفهم الإنسان.It was a way to understand humanity.

كل شخصية نافذة جديدة.Every character became another window.

وكل نص سؤال جديد.Every script became another question.

الممثل لا يلبس الأقنعة.An actor does not wear masks.

بل يزيل أقنعة الآخرين.He removes the masks of others.

قال إن التمثيل يبدأ بكلمة "لو".He said acting begins with one word: "What if."

ولو هي أعظم اختراع للخيال."What if" is imagination's greatest invention.

بين الواقع والاحتمال يولد الفن.Art is born between reality and possibility.

وفي تلك المسافة يولد الإبداع.Within that distance, creativity awakens.

الفنان يعبر الجسر مرتين.The artist crosses the bridge twice.

مرة بعقله.Once with the mind.

ومرة بروحه.Once with the soul.

الأدوار التاريخية ليست ملابس.Historical roles are not costumes.

إنها مسؤولية أمام الزمن.They are responsibilities before history.

أن تجسد شخصية راحلة.To embody someone long gone.

يعني أن تفاوض الذاكرة.Means negotiating with memory.

وأن تحترم الحقيقة.And honoring truth.

قبل أن تحترم الكاميرا.Before honoring the camera.

اختار الصمت خمس سنوات.He chose silence for five years.

ولم يختر الضجيج السهل.He refused the easy noise.

لأن الظهور ليس إنجازاً.Visibility is not achievement.

والكثرة ليست قيمة.Quantity is not value.

الفنان الحقيقي ينتظر النص.A true artist waits for the right script.

ولا ينتظر التصفيق.Not for applause.

كان يستطيع أن يعمل أكثر.He could have worked far more.

لكنه اختار أن يعتذر أكثر.Instead, he chose to decline more.

لأن الكرامة الفنية قرار.Artistic dignity is a decision.

وليست رفاهية مؤقتة.Not a temporary luxury.

أحياناً يكون الرفض بطولة.Sometimes refusal is an act of courage.

حين يصبح القبول هزيمة.When acceptance becomes defeat.

قال إن الغرور لا يعيش.He said arrogance cannot survive.

إلا بين الجهلاء.Except among the ignorant.

أما المعرفة الحقيقية.True knowledge instead.

فتقود دائماً إلى التواضع.Always leads toward humility.

كلما اتسع الأفق.The wider the horizon.

صغر الإنسان أمام الحقيقة.The smaller we appear before truth.

وحين تحدث عن أولاده.When he spoke about his children.

لم يتحدث كنجم.He spoke not as a star.

بل كأب.But as a father.

تعلم من أخطائه.He learned from his mistakes.

ثم ترك أبناءه يصنعون أسماءهم.Then let them build their own names.

لأن الإرث الحقيقي.Because true legacy.

ليس اسماً يُورث.Is never inherited.

بل قيمة تُكتسب.It is earned.
