Raise Your Head High... You Are a Free Syrian

لم يكن هذا الخبر مجرد عنوانٍ في نشرات الأخبار.This was not merely another headline in the news.

كان ارتجاجًا في ذاكرة وطنٍ انتظر طويلًا أن يُسمَع صوته من جديد.It was a tremor through the memory of a nation that had waited so long to be heard again.

إذا تحولت الوعود إلى قرارٍ رسمي، فلن يكون ذلك تعديلًا في وثيقة سياسية، بل بداية إعادة رسم علاقة سوريا بالعالم.If these promises become official policy, it will not simply amend a political document—it will begin redefining Syria's relationship with the world.

ستُفتح أبوابٌ أُغلقت لعقود.Doors that remained closed for decades may finally reopen.

وسيعود المستثمر بدل السلاح، والمهندس بدل الخراب، والعامل بدل البطالة، والطالب بدل اليأس.Investors may replace weapons, engineers may replace destruction, workers may replace unemployment, and students may replace despair.

ستعود المصانع لتدور، والمرافئ لتنبض، والمطارات لتستقبل القادمين لا الراحلين.Factories may turn once again, ports may breathe with commerce, and airports may welcome arrivals instead of farewells.

فالأمم لا تُقاس بعدد الحروب التي خاضتها، بل بعدد المرات التي استطاعت أن تنهض بعدها.Nations are not measured by the wars they fought, but by the number of times they rose after them.

وسوريا... عرفت السقوط، لكنها لم تتعلم يومًا الاستسلام.And Syria... has known collapse, but it has never learned surrender.

لقد حاولت العقوبات أن تعزلها.Sanctions tried to isolate her.

وحاولت الحروب أن تكسرها.Wars tried to break her.

وحاولت السياسة أن تؤجل ولادتها الجديدة.Politics tried to postpone her rebirth.

لكن الشعوب التي تمتلك حضارة آلاف السنين لا تموت بقرار، ولا تُمحى بتصنيف، ولا تُختصر بعنوان.But civilizations that have endured for thousands of years do not die because of a decision, disappear because of a designation, or become defined by a headline.

هذه ليست نهاية الطريق.This is not the end of the journey.

بل أول حجرٍ في طريقٍ طويل اسمه الدولة.It is the first stone on a long road called statehood.

دولةٌ يحكمها القانون لا الخوف.A state governed by law, not fear.

ويبنيها العلم لا الكراهية.Built by knowledge, not hatred.

وتحميها المؤسسات لا الشعارات.Protected by institutions, not slogans.

وتجمع أبناءها بدل أن تفرقهم.Uniting its people instead of dividing them.

كل التقدير لكل جهدٍ دبلوماسي صادقٍ ساهم في الوصول إلى هذه اللحظة.Respect to every sincere diplomatic effort that helped make this moment possible.

والشكر للرئيس أحمد الشرع، ووزير الخارجية أسعد الشيباني، والسفير توم باراك، ولكل من آمن بأن سوريا تستحق فرصةً جديدة بين الأمم.Thanks to President Ahmad Al-Sharaa, Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani, Ambassador Tom Barrack, and everyone who believed Syria deserves a new opportunity among the nations.

لكن أعظم الشكر... للشعب السوري.Yet the greatest gratitude belongs to the Syrian people.

للأم التي انتظرت أبناءها سنوات.To the mother who waited years for her children.

وللأب الذي حمل وطنه في قلبه وهو بعيد عنه.To the father who carried his homeland in his heart while living far away.

وللشاب الذي لم يفقد إيمانه بالغد رغم كل شيء.To the young man and woman who never lost faith in tomorrow despite everything.

ولكل مغتربٍ ظلّ يحتفظ بمفتاح بيته، ولو صار البيت ركامًا.To every exile who kept the key to a home, even after that home became rubble.

إن سوريا لا تحتاج إلى معجزة.Syria does not need a miracle.

إنها تحتاج إلى سلامٍ عادل، واقتصادٍ حي، وعدالةٍ متساوية، وإرادةٍ لا تعرف العودة إلى الماضي.She needs a just peace, a living economy, equal justice, and a determination that refuses to return to the past.

فإذا كان هذا القرار بداية فصلٍ جديد...If this decision marks the beginning of a new chapter...

فلنكتبه جميعًا بالحكمة، والعمل، والكرامة، لا بالانتقام والانقسام.Then let us write it together with wisdom, hard work, and dignity—not revenge and division.
