The Epic of Merit and Sweat

في الملاعب لا تُسأل الأقدام عن دينها.

On the field, feet are not asked about

their religion.

ولا تُسأل الكرة عن طائفتها.

The ball is not asked about its sect.

ولا تسأل الشباك عن عقيدة من هزّها.

The net never asks who shook it.

هناك سؤال واحد فقط:

There is only one question:

من هو الأفضل؟Who is the best?

من يركض أكثر؟Who runs harder?

من يقاتل حتى الدقيقة الأخيرة؟Who fights until the final minute?

في فرنسا كما في مصر،In France as in Egypt,

وفي أوروبا كما في أفريقيا،In Europe as in Africa,

يبقى قانون الرياضة واحداً.The law of sport remains the same.

الكفاءة أولاً.Merit comes first.

والاجتهاد أولاً.Effort comes first.

والإنجاز أولاً.Achievement comes first.

لم يصبح كانتي أسطورة باسمه.Kanté did not become a legend by his name.

ولم يصبح ديمبيلي نجماً بدينه.Dembélé did not become a star through religion.

ولم يصبح مبابي أيقونة بأصله.Mbappé did not become an icon through ancestry.

بل لأنهم أثبتوا أنفسهم كل يوم.They became great because they proved themselves every day.

الملعب لا يعرف المجاملات.The field knows no favoritism.

والنتيجة لا تعرف العواطف.The scoreboard knows no emotions.

والبطولات لا توزع بالهويات.Championships are not awarded by identity.

بل بالعمل.They are earned through work.

وبالتدريب.Through training.

وبالإصرار.Through determination.

كم من موهبة ضاعت بسبب الكسل؟How many talents were lost to laziness?

وكم من مجهول صار نجماً بالاجتهاد؟How many unknowns became stars through effort?

هذه هي الحكاية كلها.That is the whole story.

لا دين يسجل الأهداف.Religion does not score goals.

ولا طائفة تصنع التمريرات.A sect does not create assists.

ولا شعار يقطع الكرات.A slogan does not win tackles.

الذي يفعل ذلك هو اللاعب.The player does.

بعقله.With his mind.

وبقدمه.With his foot.

وبعرقه.With his sweat.

وفي النهاية،And in the end,

تبقى الحقيقة أبسط مما نظن.The truth remains simpler than we think.

فالنجاح لا يسأل عن الاسم.Success does not ask for a name.

ولا عن اللون.Nor about color.

ولا عن الخلفية.Nor about background.

إنه يسأل سؤالاً واحداً فقط:It asks only one question:

ماذا قدمت؟What have you achieved?

فإذا كان الجواب عظيماً،If the answer is great,

فتحت لك الأبواب.Doors will open before you.

شهدت لك النتائج.Results will testify for you.

هكذا تُبنى الفرق.This is how teams are built.

وهكذا تُبنى الأمم.This is how nations are built.

وهكذا يكتب التاريخ أسماء العظماء.And this is how history writes the names of the great.
