استيقظَ ليوناردو داخلَ إطارٍ ذهبي.
Leonardo awoke inside a golden frame.
لم يجدْ باباً للخروج أبداً.
He found no door to escape.
الجدرانُ لوحاتٌ تراقبُ بصمتٍ ثقيل.
The walls were paintings watching silently.
كلُّ عينٍ رسمها عادتْ إليه.
Every eye he painted returned.
سمعَ خطواتٍ خلفَ الزمنِ القديم.
He heard footsteps behind old time.
ظهرتِ الموناليزا بثوبٍ أسود.
Mona Lisa appeared in black.
ابتسامتُها كانتْ أكثرَ غموضاً.
Her smile was even stranger.
قالتْ: اليومَ أنتَ المتهمُ الوحيد.
She said: today you stand accused.
سألها: ما هيَ جريمتي؟
He asked: what is my crime?
قالتْ: سجنتني خمسةَ قرونٍ كاملة.
She said: you imprisoned me centuries.
جعلتَ العالمَ ينظرُ ولا يسمع.
You made them look, not listen.
يتحدثون عن ابتسامتي فقط.
They speak only of my smile.
ولا يسألون عن ألمي.
They never ask my pain.
ارتجفتْ ألوانُ المتحفِ فجأةً.
The museum colors suddenly trembled.
وتقدمتْ لوحاتٌ أخرى للشهادة.
Other paintings stepped forward to testify.
قالَ العشاءُ الأخيرُ بصوتٍ متعب.
The Last Supper spoke wearily.
تركْتنا نموتُ ببطءٍ شديد.
You left us dying slowly.
وقالَ طائرٌ من دفاتره.
A bird from his sketches spoke.
لماذا رسمتَ أجنحتي مبكراً؟
Why draw my wings too early?
وقالَ البحرُ داخلَ الخرائط.
The sea inside maps asked.
لماذا كنتَ تطاردُ المستحيل؟
Why chase the impossible forever?
صمتَ ليوناردو طويلاً جداً.
Leonardo remained silent for long.
ثم رفعَ رأسهُ ببطء.
Then he slowly raised his head.
كنتُ أخافُ الموتَ فقط.
I was only afraid of death.
كنتُ أبحثُ عن الخلود.
I was searching for immortality.
ضحكتِ الموناليزا للمرةِ الأولى.
Mona Lisa laughed for once.
الخلودُ ليسَ ما تظن.
Immortality is not what you think.
ما هوَ إذن؟
What is it then?
أن تبقى أسئلتكَ حيّةً.
It is your questions surviving.
سقطَ الصمتُ فوقَ المحكمة.
Silence fell across the court.
واختفى القاضي بلا أثر.
The judge vanished without trace.
عادتِ اللوحاتُ إلى جدرانها.
The paintings returned to walls.
وبقيَ السؤالُ معلقاً وحده.
Only the question remained hanging.
حتى اليومِ لم يُغلقْ الملف.
The case remains open today.
وما زالتِ الموناليزا تنتظرُ جواباً.
Mona Lisa still awaits an answer.
