The Testament That Waited for the Fall of Tyranny

ليست كلُّ الأملاك تُسجَّل في السجلات، فبعضها يُحفَظ في ضمير الإنسان.Not every property is preserved in official records; some are safeguarded in the human conscience.

سقط النظام...The regime fell...

وعادت القصور بقرارات الدولة.Palaces returned through the decisions of the state.

لكن شيئًا أعظم عاد...But something greater returned...

عادت الأمانة.Integrity returned.

قبل سنوات طويلة، باع رجل أعمال سوري أرضًا للرئيس الشهيد رفيق الحريري.Many years ago, a Syrian businessman sold a piece of land to the martyred Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

لكن البيع لم يكتمل رسميًا.Yet the transaction was never officially completed.

بقيت الأرض معلّقة بين الورق والضمير.The land remained suspended between paperwork and conscience.

وعندما اقتربت ساعة الرحيل...When the hour of departure drew near...

لم يوصِ أبناءه بزيادة ثروتهم.He did not instruct his children to increase their wealth.

بل أوصاهم بإعادة ما ليس لهم.Instead, he instructed them to return what was never theirs.

قال لهم:He told them:

إذا تغيّرت الأيام في سوريا...If the days ever changed in Syria...

فابحثوا عن ورثة رفيق الحريري.Find the heirs of Rafik Hariri.

وأعيدوا إليهم حقهم.Return to them what rightfully belongs to them.

مرت السنوات...The years passed...

ومات أصحاب الحكاية.Those who lived the story passed away.

لكن الوصية بقيت حيّة.But the testament remained alive.

وحين سقط الطغيان...When tyranny finally fell...

لم يتحدث القانون أولًا.The law did not speak first.

بل تحدّث الضمير.Conscience did.

اتصل الابن بورثة الحريري.The son contacted the Hariri family.

لا ليطالب بشيء...Not to claim anything...

بل ليعيد كل شيء.But to restore everything.

وكانت المفاجأة...The greatest surprise was this...

أن الورثة أنفسهم لم يكونوا يعلمون بوجود تلك الأرض.Even the heirs themselves did not know that the land existed.

فأعاد إليهم حقًا لم يكونوا يعلمون أنهم فقدوه.He returned a right they never knew they had lost.

هكذا تُكتب الملاحم.This is how epics are written.

ليس بالحروب وحدها.Not by wars alone.

بل بالوفاء أيضًا.But by fidelity as well.

فالدول تستعيد الأملاك بالقوانين.States recover property through laws.

أما الأمم...But nations...

فتستعيد كرامتها بالرجال الأمناء.Recover their dignity through honorable men.

رحم الله من حفظ الأمانة.May God have mercy on the one who preserved the trust.

وأكرم من أورث أبناءه الضمير قبل المال.And honor the one who left his children conscience before wealth.

فالتاريخ لا يتذكر الأغنياء طويلًا.History does not remember the wealthy for long.

لكنه لا ينسى الأمناء أبدًا.But it never forgets the trustworthy.
