The Last Scapegoat

ليست أخطر الهزائم ما يحدث داخل الملعب.The greatest defeats are not always the ones that happen on the field.

بل تلك التي تبدأ في العقول بعد صافرة النهاية.Sometimes they begin inside our minds after the final whistle.

هناك سوقٌ لا يبيع إلا الأزمات.There is a marketplace that trades only in crises.

كل خسارة تصبح سلعة.Every defeat becomes merchandise.

وكل إشاعة تصبح حقيقة عند من يريد تصديقها.Every rumor becomes truth for those who wish to believe it.

ومن يكره لاعبًا... ينتظر أي هزيمة ليحوّلها إلى محاكمة.Whoever hates a player waits for any defeat to turn it into a trial.

وفجأة... لم تعد مصر هي القضية.Suddenly... Egypt is no longer the issue.

اختفى المنتخب.The national team disappears.

واختفت المباراة.The match disappears.

ولم يبق إلا اسم لاعب يتكرر في كل جملة.Only one player's name remains, repeated in every sentence.

ليس لأنه ظلم مصر.Not because he wronged Egypt.

بل لأن بعض الناس كانوا يبحثون عن فرصة قديمة للانتقام.But because some people had been waiting for an old opportunity to settle old scores.

من حقنا أن نغضب من التحكيم.We have every right to question refereeing decisions.

ومن حقنا أن نطالب بالعدالة.We have every right to demand fairness.

لكن ليس من حقنا أن نستبدل الدليل بالكراهية.But we have no right to replace evidence with hatred.

ولا الحقيقة بالأوهام.Or truth with fantasy.

ولا الوطن بمعركة بين جماهير لاعبين.Or the nation with a war between fan bases.

الصور المفبركة ليست وطنية.Fake images are not patriotism.

والفيديوهات المزيفة ليست شجاعة.Fabricated videos are not courage.

والتدليس ليس رأيًا.Deception is not an opinion.

إنه مجرد خوف من الحقيقة.It is simply fear of the truth.

إذا أخطأ الحكم...If the referee made mistakes...

فننتقد الحكم.Then criticize the referee.

وإذا قصّر اللاعب...If players fell short...

فنحاسب اللاعب.Then hold the players accountable.

أما أن يتحول كل شيء إلى مؤامرة كونية...But turning everything into a global conspiracy...

فذلك لا يصنع منتخبًا.Builds no national team.

ولا يصنع بطولة.Wins no championship.

بل يصنع جمهورًا يعيش داخل مرآة لا يرى فيها إلا نفسه.It only creates a crowd trapped inside a mirror, seeing nothing but itself.

لقد شرف منتخب مصر بلاده.Egypt's national team honored its country.

وكان قريبًا من كتابة فصل جديد من المجد.It came close to writing another chapter of glory.

كانت هناك أخطاء.There were mistakes.

وكان هناك ظلم تحكيمي يستحق النقاش.There were controversial refereeing decisions worth discussing.

وكان هناك تقصير.There were moments of underperformance.

وكان هناك سوء حظ.There was also bad luck.

وهكذا تُكتب كرة القدم.That is how football has always been written.

أما تحويل كل ذلك إلى كراهية لرجل لم يهاجم مصر يومًا...But turning all of that into hatred toward a man who never attacked Egypt...

فليس دفاعًا عن الوطن.Is not defending the nation.

بل هروب من مواجهة الحقيقة.It is escaping from the truth.

فالأوطان لا تنتصر بالصراخ.Nations do not triumph through shouting.

ولا بالرياضة المسيسة.Nor through politicized sport.

ولا بالأكاذيب المتداولة.Nor through recycled lies.

الأوطان تنتصر عندما يبقى العقل حَكَمًا...Nations prevail when reason remains the referee...

حتى عندما يخطئ الحكم.Even when the referee does..
