وُلد طفل في مدينة مرسية. A child was born in the city of Murcia.

في الأندلس In Andalusia

حيث كانت الحضارة Where civilization

تلتقي بين الشرق والغرب.Met between East and West.

كان اسمه His name

محمد بن علي بن عربي .Muhammad ibn Ali Ibn Arabi.

لم يكن أحد يعلم No one knew

أن هذا الطفل That this child

سيصبح يومًا Would one day become

أحد أعظم فلاسفة التصوف.One of the greatest mystic philosophers.

كبر ابن عربي Ibn Arabi grew up

في زمن In a time

كانت الأندلس When Andalusia

تعيش عصرها الأخير. Was living its final golden age.

المدنCities

مليئة بالعلماء. Filled with scholars.

والفلاسفة. And philosophers.

والشعراء. And poets.

لكن الشاب But the young man

لم يكن يبحث عن المجد. Was not searching for fame.

كان يبحث عن شيء آخر .He was searching for something else.

الحقيقة .Truth.

سافر ابن عربي Ibn Arabi traveled

في مدن كثيرة .Through many cities.

إشبيلية .Seville.

قرطبة. Cordoba.

مكة .Mecca.

بغداد. Baghdad.

دمشق .Damascus.

وفي كل مدينة In every city

كان يبحث عن الحكمة .He searched for wisdom.

وفي مكة In Mecca

كتب أحد أعظم كتبه .He wrote one of his greatest books.

الفتوحات المكية .The Meccan Revelations.

كتاب A book

يحاول فهم That tried to understand

علاقة الإنسان The relationship between man

والكون. And the universe.

وكتب أيضًا He also wrote

كتابًا آخر Another book

أصبح مشهورًا في العالم كله .That became famous across the world.

فصوص الحكم .The Bezels of Wisdom.

كان ابن عربي Ibn Arabi

يقول فكرة Spoke of an idea

غيرت الفكر الصوفي. That transformed mystical thought.

أن الكون كله That the entire universe

مرآة Is a mirror

لأسماء الله Of the names of God.

وأن الإنسان And that the human being

هو سر هذا الكون. Is the secret of this universe.

وفي سنة 1240In the year 1240

مات ابن عربي Ibn Arabi died

في مدينة دمشق. In the city of Damascus.

ودفن And he was buried

عند سفح جبل قاسيون. At the foot of Mount Qasioun.

لكن أفكاره But his ideas

لم تختف. Did not disappear.

بل انتشرت They spread

من الشرق إلى الغرب. From East to West.

لأن بعض الرجال For some men

لا يغيرون المدن. Do not change cities.

ولا الجيوش. Nor armies.

بل يغيرون But they change

طريقة فهم الإنسان للوجود .The way humanity understands existence.
