قبل أن نردّ على الكلمات

 Before answering the words

يجب أن نسأل: من أين جاءت هذه الكلمات؟ 

we must ask: where did these words come from?

هل خرجت من قلبٍ يبحث عن الحقيقة

Did they rise from a heart seeking truth

أم من منصةٍ تبحث عن الضجيج؟ 

or from a stage seeking noise?

في كل عصر

 In every age

يظهر من يخلط بين الشهرة والمعرفة. 

someone appears who confuses fame with knowledge.

ليس جديداً

 This is not new

أن يتكلم الممثل في السياسة أو التاريخ. 

that actors speak about politics or history.

الجديد

 What is new

أن يظن أن الكاميرا 

is believing that a camera

تصنع منه مرجعاً.

 can turn him into a reference.

التاريخ لم يُكتب في الاستوديوهات.

 History was not written in studios.

والأديان لم تُبنَ في المقابلات التلفزيونية. 

Religions were not built in television interviews.

والإيمان

 Faith

لم يولد من ضجيج الشهرة. 

was never born from the noise of fame.

حين يتحدث ممثل عن تاريخ الإسلام 

When an actor speaks about the history of Islam

وكأنه يكتشفه لأول مرة 

as if he discovered it for the first time

فإن المشكلة ليست في رأيه.

 The problem is not his opinion.

المشكلة

 The problem

أن الضجيج أصبح بديلاً عن الفكر.

 is that noise has replaced thought.

التاريخ ليس جملة عابرة في مقابلة. 

History is not a casual sentence in an interview.

ولا العقائد

 Nor faith

نصوصاً درامية 

dramatic scripts

يحفظها الممثل 

memorized by actors

ثم يرددها أمام الكاميرا. 

and recited before a camera.

حين يقال إن طائفة ما

 When someone claims that a certain sect

هي «السنة الحقيقيون»

 are the “true Sunnis”

فذلك لا يشرح التاريخ. 

that does not explain history.

بل يشرح شيئاً آخر.

 It explains something else.

يشرح

 It reveals

كيف يمكن للجهل

 how ignorance

أن يرتدي بدلة الشهرة. 

can wear the suit of fame.

الحضارات لا تنهار بسبب الأخطاء.

 Civilizations do not collapse because of mistakes.

الأخطاء جزء من الطبيعة البشرية.

 Mistakes are part of human nature.

لكن الحضارات تنهار

 But civilizations collapse

حين يصبح الجهل

 when ignorance

واثقاً من نفسه. 

becomes confident.

وحين يصبح الصوت

 And when the voice

أعلى من الفكرة.

 becomes louder than the idea.

في تلك اللحظة 

At that moment

لا يسقط الدين.

 religion does not fall.

ولا يسقط التاريخ. 

history does not fall.

الذي يسقط

 What collapses

هو احترام العقل.

 is respect for the mind.

من يتحدث عن تاريخٍ معقد

 Who speaks about a complex history

بجملةٍ مرتجلة

 with a spontaneous sentence

يشبه 

is like

من يشرح البحر

 someone explaining the ocean

بعد أن رأى قطرة ماء.

 after seeing a drop of water.

وقد يتقن الممثل البكاء أمام الكاميرا. 

An actor may master crying before the camera.

وقد يحفظ نصوصاً طويلة. 

He may memorize long scripts.

لكن الحفظ

 But memorization

ليس معرفة.

 is not knowledge.

والأداء

 And performance

ليس فهماً.

 is not understanding.

التاريخ لا يُكتب بوجوهٍ معروفة. 

History is not written by famous faces.

بل يُكتب

 It is written

بدماءٍ

 with blood

لا تعرفها الكاميرات. 

unknown to cameras.

كل حضارة عظيمة

 Every great civilization

بدأت بالعلم.

 began with knowledge.

لكن كثيراً منها انتهى

 But many ended

حين أصبح الجهل

 when ignorance

خطاباً عاماً.

 became public discourse.

المأساة ليست في التصريح. 

The tragedy is not the statement.

التصريحات تمر.

 Statements pass.

الضجيج يمر. 

Noise passes.

الذي يبقى 

What remains

هو الأثر الذي يتركه الجهل.

 is the trace ignorance leaves behind.

لأن أخطر ما في زمننا Because the most dangerous thing in our time

ليس الجهل نفسه.

 is not ignorance itself.

بل But

ثقة الجهل بنفسه.

 the confidence of ignorance.

أن يتكلم

 That it speaks

وكأنه يعرف.

 as if it knows.

وأن يصفق له الناس 

And that people applaud it

وكأنه حكيم. 

as if it were wisdom.

لكن التاريخ قاسٍ

 But history is ruthless.

الضجيج يختفي.

 Noise disappears.

والحقيقة تبقى.

 Truth remains.

وكل من تكلم بلا علم

 And everyone who spoke without knowledge

يختفي في الهامش.

 disappears into the margins.

كما يختفي الممثل 

Just like actors disappear

بعد انتهاء العرض.

 after the show ends.

لأن المسرح

 Because the stage

ينطفئ دائماً. 

always goes dark.

لكن الحقيقة But truth

لا تسدل ستارها أبداً. 

never closes its curtain.

وهنا

 And here

تبدأ القصة الحقيقية.

 the real story begins.

حين يدرك الناس

 When people realize

أن الشهرة 

that fame

لا تصنع حكمة.

 does not create wisdom.

وأن الكاميرا

 And that a camera

لا تصنع عالماً. 

does not create a scholar.

وأن الحقيقة

 And that truth

أكبر 

is greater

من كل ضجيج. 

than any noise.

سيأتي يوم 

A day will come

يصمت فيه الضجيج. 

when the noise falls silent.

وتعود الكلمات

 And words return

إلى وزنها الحقيقي. to their true weight.

حينها 

Then

لن يسأل الناس

 people will not ask

من كان الأشهر.

 who was the most famous.

بل

 But

من كان الأصدق.

 who was the most truthful.

لأن التاريخ 

Because history

لا يتذكر الضجيج.

 does not remember noise.

بل يتذكر

 It remembers

من قال الحقيقة those who spoke the truth

حين كان الضجيج أعلى من كل شيء.

 when the noise was louder than everything.

وفي النهاية

 And in the end

لا يبقى

 nothing remains

إلا ما كُتب بالعلم. 

except what was written with knowledge.

وما قيل بالصدق. 

and what was spoken with sincerity.

أما الضجيج

 As for noise

فمصيره دائماً 

its destiny is always

الصمت. 

silence.
