ملحمة الانتماء إلى الإسلام 

The Epic of Belonging to Islam

ما معنى أن أقول: إنني مسلم؟ 

What does it mean to say: I am a Muslim?

ليس سؤالاً لغوياً عابراً،

 It is not a passing linguistic question,

ولا اسماً يكتب في وثيقة، 

Nor a name written on a document,

بل عهدٌ بين الإنسان وربه، 

But a covenant between the human and his Lord,

ومسؤولية تمتد من القلب إلى العالم. 

A responsibility stretching from the heart to the world.

قال الله تعالى:

God says:

﴿وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ قَوْلًا مِمَّنْ دَعَا إِلَى اللَّهِ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا وَقَالَ إِنَّنِي مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ﴾ “

And who is better in speech than one who calls to Allah, does righteousness, and says: I am among the Muslims

.” (فصلت 33)

في هذه الآية

 In this verse

تجتمع هوية المسلم كلها. 

The entire identity of the Muslim gathers.

دعوةٌ إلى الله،

 A call to God,

وعملٌ صالح، 

Righteous action,

وشجاعة في إعلان الانتماء. 

And courage in declaring belonging.

فالانتماء إلى الإسلام

 Belonging to Islam

ليس لقباً اجتماعياً، 

Is not a social title,

ولا ميراثاً ثقافياً، 

Nor a cultural inheritance,

بل وعيٌ والتزام. 

But awareness and commitment.

ولهذا قال النبي ﷺ: 

That is why the Prophet ﷺ said:

«المسلم من سلم المسلمون من لسانه ويده» “

A Muslim is the one from

whose tongue and hand people are safe.

” (البخاري ومسلم)

أي أن الإسلام

 Meaning that Islam

يُقاس أولاً بالأخلاق. 

Is measured first by character.

فحين يصدق الإنسان في كلامه، 

When a person is truthful in speech,

فهو يمارس إيمانه.

 He practices his faith.

وحين يحفظ الأمانة، 

When he keeps trust,

فهو يعلن انتماءه الحقيقي. 

He declares his true belonging.

وحين يعدل في حكمه،

 When he is just in judgment,

فهو يحقق معنى العبادة.

 He fulfills the meaning of worship.

وقد قال الله تعالى:

 God says:

﴿إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَأْمُرُ بِالْعَدْلِ وَالإِحْسَانِ﴾ “Indeed Allah commands justice and

excellence.”

 (النحل 90)

فالعدل 

Justice

ليس قيمة سياسية فقط، 

Is not merely a political value,

بل عبادة.

 But an act of worship.

والإحسان

 And excellence

ليس ترفاً أخلاقياً،

 Is not moral luxury,

بل روح الدين.

 But the soul of religion.

وقد لخّص النبي ﷺ معنى الإسلام كله

 The Prophet ﷺ summarized the essence of Islam

في حديث واحد:

 In one hadith:

«إنما بُعثت لأتمم مكارم الأخلاق» 

“I was sent to perfect noble character.”

فالإسلام 

Thus Islam

حين يتحول إلى أخلاق 

When it becomes character

يتحول إلى حضارة. 

It becomes civilization.

وحين يتحول إلى عدل

 When it becomes justice

يتحول إلى نظام للعالم. 

It becomes a system for the world.

ولهذا 

Therefore

لم ينتشر الإسلام بالسيوف

 Islam did not spread by swords

كما يظن البعض،

 As some imagine,

بل بالأخلاق.

 But by character.

دخل الإسلام 

Islam entered

إندونيسيا وماليزيا 

Indonesia and Malaysia

عن طريق التجار المسلمين

 Through Muslim merchants

الذين حملوا معهم الصدق قبل البضائع

. Who carried honesty before merchandise.

فأخلاقهم

 Their character

كانت أول دعوة. 

Was the first invitation.

وكذلك 

Likewise

حين يعيش المسلم اليوم 

When a Muslim today lives

في مجتمع غير مسلم،

 In a non-Muslim society,

فإنه يصبح 

He becomes

سفيراً لدينه 

An ambassador of his faith

من دون أن يدري.

 Without even realizing it.

كلمة صدق

 A truthful word

قد تغيّر فكرةً كاملة عن الإسلام. 

May change an entire idea about Islam.

وأمانة في العمل 

Integrity at work

قد تكون درساً في العقيدة.

 May become a lesson in faith.

واحترام للناس 

Respect for people

قد يكون تفسيراً عملياً للقرآن. 

May become a living interpretation of the Qur’an.

ولهذا قال الله تعالى: 

That is why God says:

﴿وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَاكُمْ أُمَّةً وَسَطًا لِتَكُونُوا شُهَدَاءَ عَلَى النَّاسِ﴾ “

And thus We made you a balanced nation so that you may be witnesses over humanity.” 

(البقرة 143)

فالمسلم 

The Muslim

ليس فرداً يعيش لنفسه فقط،

 Is not an individual living only for himself,

بل شاهدٌ على القيم.

 But a witness to values.

وشهادته

 His testimony

لا تكون بالخطب،

 Is not through speeches,

بل بالحياة نفسها. 

But through life itself.

ولهذا

 Therefore

حين يسأل الإنسان نفسه:

 When a person asks himself:

ما معنى أن أنتمي إلى الإسلام؟ 

What does it mean to belong to Islam?

فالجواب الحقيقي ليس كلمة. 

The true answer is not a word.

بل حياة كاملة.

 But an entire life.

أن يكون الإسلام

 That Islam becomes

في ضميرك عدلاً، 

Justice in your conscience,

وفي كلامك صدقاً،

 Truth in your speech,

وفي قلبك رحمة، 

Mercy in your heart,

وفي عملك أمانة. 

Integrity in your work.

عندها فقط 

Only then

لا تقول إنك مسلم. 

You do not merely say you are Muslim.

بل يصبح الإسلام

 But Islam itself becomes

واضحاً فيك

 Visible through you

قبل أن تنطق به. 

Before you speak it.
