ألم يكن المؤتمر الصحفي حدثًا سياسيًا…

It was not a political event…

بل لحظة معماريّة في تاريخ الإدراك،

but an architectural moment in the history of perception,

حين انحنى البيت الأبيض قليلًا،

when the White House bent slightly,

وكشف لنا أن القوّة قد تخضع لهيبة الصدق،

and revealed that power may submit to the dignity of sincerity,

وأن العرش قد يقع يومًا في غرام من لا يسعى للعرش.

and that the throne may one day fall in love with the one who does not seek it.

ترامب… الرجل الذي يعيد تصميم الأمبراطوريات كما يعاد ترتيب ألعاب المفاوضات،

Trump… the man who redesigns empires as if rearranging pieces on a negotiation board,

وقف أمام شابٍ يشبه ضوءًا دخل من شقّ في جدار البيت الأبيض،

stood before a young man resembling a ray of light slipping through a crack in the White House wall,

فبدت قوانين الجاذبية الدبلوماسية عاجزة عن تفسير انجذابه.

and diplomatic gravity laws failed to explain his attraction.

ليس “ترامب يقع في غرام ممداني”، كما قالت مذيعة الـ

 MSN…

It wasn’t merely “Trump falls in love with Mamdani,” as the MSN anchor said…

بل كان العرش يقع في دهشة من لا يحني رأسه.

it was the throne astonished by one who does not bow his head.

ممداني لم يدخل المكتب البيضاوي…

Mamdani did not enter the Oval Office…

بل دخل بنية القوة.

he entered the structure of power.

لم يقف بجوار المكتب الرئاسي،

He did not stand beside the presidential desk,

بل تجاوز ارتفاعه الرمزي،

but exceeded its symbolic elevation,

ووقف على مستوى الفكرة.

and stood at the level of principle.

ترامب الذي أحب بوتين وامتدح أون،

Trump, who admired Putin and praised Kim Jong-Un,

لم يمنح إعجابه لممداني لأنّه قوي،

did not admire Mamdani because he was strong,

بل لأنّه قوي دون أن يحتاج أن يكون عنيفًا،

but because he was strong without needing to be brutal,

وصادق دون أن يدفع ثمن الحقيقة.

and truthful without paying the cost of truth.

في تلك اللحظة، تحوّل الإسلام من “سؤال الهوية” إلى “غياب الموضوع”.

In that moment, Islam shifted from “the question of identity” to “the absence of relevance.”

فلم يُذكر الدين… لا خوفًا ولا مجاملة،

Religion was not mentioned—neither from fear nor courtesy,

بل لأن الصدق حين يتكلم،

but because when sincerity speaks,

لا يسأل الحضور عن بطاقة تعريفه.

the audience does not ask for his identification card.

قال أحد المعلقين: “هذا التفاهم لن يدوم أكثر من أيام.”

One commentator said: “This harmony may last only a few days.”

نعم…

True…

فالنور لا يستمر في غرفة مغلقة،

for light does not endure in a sealed chamber,

إلا إذا تحوّلت الغرفة إلى نافذة.

unless the chamber becomes a window.

يا ممداني…

O Mamdani…

ربما لم تقع أنت في غرام السلطة،

Perhaps you did not fall in love with power,

لكن السلطة اليوم وقعت في غرام ما نفتقده فيها:

but power fell today in love with what it lacks:

المبدأ الذي لا يُباع،

principle that cannot be sold,

والصدق الذي لا يتوسّل خشبة المسرح.

honesty that does not beg for the stage.

ولعلّ أعظم ما في المشهد ليس أن ترامب غيّر رأيه،

And perhaps the greatest part of the scene is not that Trump changed his mind,

بل أنه فعل ذلك دون أن يتغيّر ممداني.

but that he did so without Mamdani changing himself.

هذا هو المعنى الحقيقي للسلطة:

This is the true meaning of power:

أن تُجبر من فوق على تعديل هندسته،

to compel those above to adjust their architecture,

لا أن تغيّر أنت أساساتك.

not to alter your own foundation.
