ملحمة لا تُشبه ما كُتب… بل تُشبه ما كُتم.

An epic unlike what was written… but like what was silenced.

أنا لا أطلق كتابًا جديدًا فحسب، بل أفتح نافذة على زمنٍ غريب صهل فيه الجميع… وصمت فيه الإنسان.

I am not merely releasing a book. I am opening a window onto an era where everyone brayed… and the human being fell silent.

في تلك اللحظة من التاريخ، لم تعد الكلمات بريئة، ولا الصمت محايدًا.

At that moment in history, words were no longer innocent, and silence was no longer neutral.

“ملحمة الحمير” ليست سخرية، بل اعترافٌ مرّ.

أننا في لحظةٍ ما من حياتنا اخترنا النجاة على حساب الكرامة، فأصبح الصهيل لغةً رسمية، وأصبح التفكير جريمة.

“The Epic of Donkeys” is not satire. It is a bitter confession.

At some point in our lives, we chose survival over dignity, and braying became the official language while thinking turned into a crime.

هذا العمل لا يهاجم أحدًا، ولا يسخر من شعبٍ أو زمن.

بل يضع على طاولة التاريخ تلك اللحظة النادرة التي انحنى فيها ظهر الإنسان قبل أن تنحني ركبتاه.

This work attacks no one. It mocks no nation and no era.

Instead, it places on the table of history that rare moment when the spine of man bowed before his knees ever did.

أنا أكتب لأنني لم أعد أحتمل الصمت. وأصدر هذا الكتاب لأن الكتابة هي آخر طريقة يمكن للإنسان أن يقول بها:

«أنا إنسان… مهما حاول الزمن أن يجعلني أقل».

I write because I can no longer endure silence. And I publish this book because writing is the last way a human can still say:

“I am human… no matter how hard time tries to diminish me.”

تنويه أدبي واحترام

هذا العمل الأدبي مستلهم جزئيًا من الروح الرمزية في مسرحية “الحمير” للأديب العربي الكبير Naguib Mahfouz، الحائز على جائزة نوبل في الأدب عام 1988، والذي قدّم في أعماله رؤى فلسفية عميقة عن الإنسان والسلطة والمجتمع.

غير أن هذا الكتاب ليس إعادة كتابة ولا اقتباسًا مباشرًا من عمله، بل هو عمل مستقل يستلهم الفكرة الرمزية ويعيد صياغتها في سياق معاصر.

This book is partly inspired by the symbolic spirit found in the writings of the great Arab novelist Naguib Mahfouz, Nobel Prize laureate in Literature (1988), whose works explored profound philosophical reflections on society, power, and the human condition.

However, this book is not a reproduction or adaptation of his work, but an independent literary piece that draws inspiration from symbolic tradition while presenting a new contemporary vision.
