beauty was struggle,
لا زينة.
not decoration.
وقف فان غوخ أمام اللون،
Van Gogh stood before color,
فحوّله إلى صرخة.
and turned it into a scream.
لم يرسم ما رأى،
He did not paint what he saw,
بل ما احترق داخله.
but what burned inside him.
ثم جاء بيكاسو،
Then Picasso arrived,
هنا لا نقف أمام اللوحة،
Here we do not stand before the painting,
بل تدخل اللوحة إلينا.
the painting enters us.
الفن ليس صورة معلّقة،
Art is not a hanging image,
بل لحظة توقّف فيها الزمن
but a moment when time stopped
ليتأمل نفسه.
to look at itself.
في الكهوف الأولى،
In the first caves,
كان الرسم صلاة بلا كلمات.
drawing was prayer without words.
ثم جاء عصر النهضة،
Then the Renaissance arrived,
ومع ليوناردو دافنشي
and with Leonardo da Vinci
صار الجسد سؤالًا فلسفيًا.
the body became a philosophical question.
الابتسامة لم تكن لغزًا،
The smile was not a mystery,
لم يعد السؤال:
the question was no longer:
هل هذا جميل؟
Is this beautiful?
بل:
But:
لماذا هذا يوجع؟
Why does this hurt?
هنا يصبح العمل الفني
Here the artwork becomes
موقفًا،
a stance,
أو احتجاجًا،
a protest,
أو مرآة لا نحب النظر إليها طويلًا.
or a mirror we dislike staring into.
هذه ليست دروس تاريخ فن،
These are not art history lessons,
بل ملاحم عن إنسان
but epics about a human
واجه العالم باللون والخط.
who faced the world with color and line.
بل أخلاقًا صامتة.
but silent ethics.
فكسر الوجه،
shattered the face,
لأن الحقيقة لا تُحتمل من زاوية واحدة.
because truth cannot be endured from a single angle.
في التكعيبية،
In Cubism,
صار العالم شظايا.
the world became fragments.
ثم ذابت الساعات
Then the clocks melted
مع دالي،
with Dalí,
وتحرّر العقل من منطقه.
and the mind escaped logic.
في السريالية،
In Surrealism,
لم يكن الجنون هروبًا،
madness was not escape,
بل طريقًا آخر للحقيقة.
but another path to truth.
